Marshall Business Services is looking for an experienced and proactive Bookkeeper to join our growing team on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for the position to become permanent for the right candidate.
This is not your average bookkeeping role.
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves. You'll work closely with our CEO, providing bookkeeping expertise while also helping to keep our office, team and client deadlines running smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing - Bookkeeping
- Full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
- Bank, credit card and account reconciliations
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Payroll processing
- GST/HST and payroll remittance preparation
- Assisting with year-end working papers and accountant requests
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Reviewing work for accuracy and completeness
- Assisting team members with bookkeeping questions where appropriate
Executive & Administrative Support
- Managing CEO email inbox
- Calendar management and scheduling
- Assisting with task management and prioritization
- Helping oversee bookkeeping deadlines
- Coordinating internal communication where required
- Supporting day-to-day office administration
Team Support
- Helping keep bookkeeping workflows on track
- Following up on outstanding client information
- Assisting with workflow organization
- Supporting continuous improvement of processes
- Taking ownership of assigned responsibilities

Required Experience
✔ Minimum 3 years' bookkeeping experience
✔ QuickBooks Online experience (required)
✔ Payroll processing experience
✔ Strong understanding of:
- Payroll remittances
- GST/HST
- Year-end preparation
- Bank reconciliations
✔ Experience using online banking platforms
✔ Excellent Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 skills
✔ Strong computer literacy
Preferred Experience
- SharePoint
- Microsoft Teams
- Outlook management
- Multi-client bookkeeping
- Public practice or bookkeeping firm experience
- Leadership or team coordination experience

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
