Role and Responsibilities
- Setup and Operate 3 axis Vertical CNC machines
- Perform part prep and machine loading & unloading
- Handle steel parts manually and using cranes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and charts
- Analyze the drawing and program to setup proper tools
- Verify dimensions of the machined part using precision instruments
- Work to close tolerances
- Perform inspections of parts, measure and record key dimensions and fill in QA forms as needed
- Identify and understand different grades of material and proper procedures and precaution for processing
- Maintain and encourage a safe work environment and good housekeeping.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience, must be able to work independently.
- Experience working with steel parts preferred
- Experience with overhead crane is an asset
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Basic mathematical aptitude
- Proficient at reading technical drawings including GD&T
- Read and interpret G-code & M-code
- Experience using various measuring tools and small power tools
- Heavy lifting required up to 43lbs
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Be familiar with the capabilities and limitations of CNC machinery
- Required to work bi- weekly shift rotations - 6:30am -3:00pm and 2:45pm-11:15pm $2.00/hr. night shift premium.
