Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Painter's Assistant to support our painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in construction painting and restoration work. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, reliable, and possess a strong work ethic. Prior experience in construction or related trades is a plus but not required. This role involves assisting with surface preparation, applying paint and coatings, and supporting skilled painters in various tasks to ensure high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Assist with surface preparation including sanding, caulking, and cleaning surfaces prior to painting
- Support with the application of paint, stains, and coatings using hand tools and power tools
- Help set up scaffolding, rigging, and ladders safely for elevated work
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to understand project requirements
- Operate hand tools such as brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other equipment as directed
- Support carpentry tasks related to framing or minor repairs during restoration projects
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of debris
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project timelines are met
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries on site
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction, restoration, or painting is advantageous but not mandatory
- Familiarity with construction painting, industrial painting, or residential painting is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings preferred
- Knowledge of hand tools and power tools used in painting and carpentry projects
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
- Good time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Basic understanding of rigging and scaffolding setup is beneficial
- Physical ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods during work shifts
- Reliable transportation or valid driver’s license is preferred for job site access
