About the Role
We are looking for a skilled, self-reliant Senior Maintenance Technician to oversee the physical health of a dedicated portfolio of apartment buildings in downtown Calgary.
If you have at least 5 years of hands-on experience and pride yourself on fixing things right the first time, we want to talk to you.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Maintenance: Execute daily work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and suite turnovers across multiple residential buildings.
- Plumbing Focus: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair common and mid-level multifamily plumbing issues (e.g., leaking stacks, shut-off valve replacements, zone vale replacements, mixing valves, clogged drains, and fixture upgrades).
- General Trades: Perform intermediate carpentry, minor electrical (switches, fixtures), minor appliance repair, drywall patching, and painting during turnovers.
- Vendor Coordination: Assess larger failures and coordinate/supervise specialized third-party contractors when needed.
- On-Call Rotation: Participate in a shared emergency on-call rotation to support our tenants when critical issues arise.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in residential property maintenance or a related trade.
- Plumbing Edge: You must possess strong, demonstrable knowledge of residential plumbing systems and troubleshooting.
- Tools & Transit: Must own a reliable truck or service vehicle suitable for moving between properties, along with a standard set of hand and power tools.
- Independence: Ability to prioritize a daily task list, manage time efficiently across multiple locations, and communicate clearly with residents and management.
- Tech Savvy: Comfortable using basic smartphone apps for logging work orders and tracking inventory.
