About Red Table Catering (RTC)
RTC is the catering company serving Red Pine Camp on Golden Lake in Ontario. Red Pine is a family camp operating from Canada Day Weekend until Labour Day Weekend every Summer. Staff live and work at camp, cooking for approximately 400 people, 3 meals per day. We cook with local ingredients and strive to create high quality cuisine with rustic, homestyle flare.
You will live in a small cabin, eat in the big dining hall, and during time off you can enjoy the lake, boats, sporting facilities and social activities of camp life!
Overview
We are seeking an experienced cook to help with culinary operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality meals. RTC serves breakfast lunch and dinner for approx. 400 people daily.
This role involves supporting with kitchen staff management and cooking. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food industry practices, culinary skills, and restaurant service. Responsibilities
- Cook on the line and prepare for upcoming meals with attention to quality, presentation, and consistency
- Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times
- Help train staff on proper food handling, knife skills, and cooking techniques
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with dietary departments to accommodate specific dietary needs and restrictions
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within the food industry or restaurant settings
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation standards
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods
- Food service background is required
- Previous management experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus
We are a young team, and for many of our employees, this is their first experience working in a kitchen. This role is ideal for someone who is excited about living at camp all Summer and helping guide our more junior employees. While the work is a seasonal contract, many of our senior employees return year after year. If you are a good fit year over year we offer returning signing bonuses and incentives.
