We are seeking an organized, empathetic, and proactive Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team. As the backbone of our front-line operations, you will manage complex scheduling, handle sensitive patient communication, and coordinate regional referral networks. This role requires a balance of sharp administrative skills and deep compassion for patient care.
This is a full-time position. Start date is June 22, 2026.
Qualifications:
Graduation from a recognized Medical Office Assistant program or an equivalent combination of medical office experience and education.
Strong familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (Accuro) systems.
Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills under pressure.
Understanding of medical terminology (specifically related to women's health and obstetrics is an asset).
Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
Responsibilities include:
Efficiently process and track incoming patient referrals from family physicians and emergency departments across the East Kootenay region.
Greeting patients, manage a high-volume multi-line phone system, and respond to inquiries with professionalism and strict confidentiality.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR), scan clinical documents, and manage day-to-day office
