About the role
This position provides key operational support to the People Team by assisting with the delivery of HR programs, processes, and services across the organization. This role requires hands-on involvement in many aspects of Human Resources, including recruitment, employee life cycle, leaves management, HR systems, reporting and analytics, and special projects.
What you’ll do
HR Operations & Administration:
Build and maintain trusted cross functional relationships through accurate support and timely follow up.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in Workday, including hires, job changes, compensation updates, and terminations.
Coordinate and process employee lifecycle transactions, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
Support payroll inputs and partner with Finance/payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Assist with drafting HR correspondence, preparation and distribution of documents, presentations and other materials as needed.
Support the payroll and benefits administration process in Workday, by participating in bi weekly payroll validation meetings and process audits as needed.
Maintain HR documentation, templates, and employee files in accordance with company policies and applicable legislation.
Onboarding and Offboarding
Manage the full onboarding process in Workday, including offer entry, new hire setup, system access coordination.
Schedule and facilitate orientation.
Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires, providing a welcoming and seamless experience.
Coordinate offboarding activities, including exit documentation, system updates, and exit interviews.
Employee Support
Support the People team mailbox by responding to employee and manager inquiries related to HR policies, processes, and Workday navigation.
Provide general guidance on employee inquiries, escalating more complex issues as needed.
Support HR team with employee communications and process updates.
Workday & Reporting
Act as a Workday super user for the organization, supporting data entry, troubleshooting, basic system configuration and testing as needed.
Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports and analytics to support and monitor HR metrics and programs, to enable strategic business decisions and monitor processes for continuous improvement.
Support data audits and reporting requests, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
HR Programs & Projects
Assist with the coordination of HR cyclical programs such as objective setting, development planning and year end performance.
Support small HR projects, policy updates, and process improvements.
Contribute to continuous improvement of HR workflows and Workday utilization.

What you bring
Post Secondary education in Human Resources Management and minimum of 2+ years of Human Resources experience or equivalent is preferred.
Member in good standing with the HRPA is an asset.
Proven analytical skills and ability to problem-solve.
The ability to grow and develop knowledge and skills within the Human Resources function.
Proven experience working with an HRIS system, Workday is preferred.
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Teams, Outlook Mail, Word, and PowerPoint.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels internally and externally, including outside vendors.
Proven ability to be organized and experience that requires a high degree of attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills and superior ability to problem-solve.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
Demonstrate initiative, work independently, and an ability to complete multiple simultaneous assignments in a timely manner.

This posting is for an existing vacancy.
The base salary range for this position ranges from $67,000 -$97,000.
The exact placement within the range will vary based on a variety of factors including: the candidate's knowledge, skills and experience relative to the requirements of the role, internal peers and the external market. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible to participate in the OPTrust incentive program, the defined benefit pension plan and comprehensive benefits.
