Work Location Note: This is a site-based, camp role requiring full participation in a rotational schedule and compliance with all site safety and operational requirements.
Position Overview
1911 Gold Corporation is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Database Manager who is responsible for the management, validation, security, and reporting of geological, geotechnical, sampling, and production data generated from the True North exploration and mine’s operation.
The role supports grade control, resource development drilling, reconciliation, mine planning, and resource estimation by ensuring that geological information is accurate, complete, and readily accessible.
Key Responsibilities
Database Admistriation & Data Management
- Maintain and administer the True North Mine geological and exploration databases.
- Import, validate, and maintain production, grade control, exploration, and resource development drilling data.
- Ensure geological, geotechnical, sampling, and production data are accurate, complete, secure, and readily accessible.
- Manage large geological datasets generated from both underground and surface drilling programs.
- Coordinate geological data collection and integration from underground drilling activities.
- Ensure timely entry of face mapping, channel sampling, and production geology information
Quality Assurance & Data Validation
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) reviews of geological databases.
- Validate drillhole collar information, downhole surveys, assay results, geological coding, sampling records, and production data.
- Develop and implement database validation routines and quality control procedures.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies while maintaining database integrity.
Reporting & Technical Support
- Generate routine reports supporting: Ground Control, Production Reconciliation, Grade Control, Underground Exploration and Resource Development Drilling.
- Produce drilling statistics and geological performance reports.
- Support underground geologists with geological data capture, reporting, and technical database assistance.
- Export validated datasets for geological modeling, resource estimation, and mine planning activities.
Resource Development & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare validated datasets for resource estimation and geological modeling.
- Support the development and maintenance of wireframes, block models, grade shells, and resource estimation databases.
- Develop automated database workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual data entry.
- Recommend and implement improvements to data capture processes, reporting systems, and database management practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Skill Set
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Mining Engineering, Geoscience, GIS, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–7 years of experience in geological database management within exploration or underground mining operations.
- Experience administering geological databases supporting underground mining and exploration activities.
- Strong understanding of geological data management, sampling protocols, drilling databases, and resource development workflows.
- Experience managing large geological datasets from surface and underground drilling programs: MX Deposit, Datashed, Leapfrog Geo, QGIS, SQL Database Management, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI and Data Analytics and Reporting tools.
Job Conditions & Work Environment
This position operates within both office and active mining environments and requires periodic travel to the True North Mine site.
Working conditions include:
- Hybrid work arrangement with regular travel to the mine site (minimum once per month).
- Exposure to active underground and surface mining operations during site visits.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) while on site.
- Occasional work in industrial environments, including underground mine workings.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting operational deadlines.
- Some flexibility to support operational requirements outside standard business hours when necessary
