Job Summary
We are looking for a fun, patient, and energetic Early Childhood Educator to teach robotics and simple pictographic/ block base coding to children ages 4–7.
This role focuses on early learning through hands-on STEM activities, such as lego robotics building and Scratch Junior story-telling animations and interactive games. You do NOT need to treat this like high school programming—this is about building logic, confidence, and curiosity through play.
If you enjoy working with young children and know how to turn “robotics + coding concepts” into games, stories, and movement-based activities, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons for ages 4–7 using tools like beginner LEGO robotics kits, Scratch Junior and interactive learning activities
- Teach foundational concepts such as sequencing, patterns, logic, cause-and-effect, and problem-solving
- Use storytelling, games, and movement-based learning to keep young learners engaged
- Create a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment for early learners
- Support children’s social-emotional development, focus skills, and classroom routines
- Observe and document student progress in simple, clear developmental notes
- Adapt teaching methods based on student attention span and learning needs
- Collaborate with the teaching team to improve lesson flow and classroom experience
- Support seasonal camps, STEM events, and beginner robotics showcases
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, Education, or related field (required or strong asset)
- Experience working with children ages 4–7 in a classroom or program setting
- Strong classroom management skills for young children
- High patience, energy, creativity, and adaptability
- Strong communication skills with both children and parents
Nice to Have
- Experience with Scratch Jr, LEGO robotics, or early STEM education
- Teaching experience in STEM, coding, or enrichment programs is an asset
- Willingness to learn simple robotics and coding (eg. Scratch Jr)
- Experience designing play-based learning activities
- Summer camp or after-school program experience
Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
