Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Mechanic to join our automotive service team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance, providing a valuable foundation for a career in automotive mechanics. The Apprentice Mechanic will work under the supervision of experienced technicians to develop essential skills in diagnosing and repairing vehicles, ensuring customer satisfaction and safety.
Duties
- Assist with automotive repairs, including engine, transmission, brake, and suspension work
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to perform repairs and maintenance tasks
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to understand vehicle systems
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks
- Support the assembly and disassembly of vehicle components during repair processes
- Conduct heavy lifting as needed for parts and equipment handling
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures during repair activities
- Collaborate with team members to complete repairs efficiently and accurately
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge with an interest in automotive repair
- Experience or familiarity with dealership service environments is a plus
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills through hands-on training and mentorship
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
- Good customer service skills are desirable for interacting with clients when necessary
- Knowledge of schematics, assembly processes, and maintenance procedures is advantageous
- Prior mechanic experience or related technical training is preferred but not required
