Heavy Duty Mechanic – Field Service
Location: Indus, AB (Calgary Area)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts, with overtime opportunities available

About the Role
TNT Heavy Equipment is seeking a reliable and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Field Service team. Working from a fully equipped service truck, you will travel to customer sites to diagnose, maintain, and repair a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, rock trucks, and other construction and earthmoving equipment.
We welcome applications from experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics as well as 3rd-year apprentices with a minimum of two years of relevant hands-on experience. Successful candidates must have practical experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment in field or job site environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment on customer job sites
- Perform maintenance and repair work on hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Conduct inspections and identify equipment issues efficiently
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Maintain service truck inventory, tools, and overall cleanliness
- Work independently while ensuring safe work practices in varying weather and site conditions
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on heavy equipment repair experience
- Journeyperson certification or 3rd-year Heavy Duty Mechanic apprentice status preferred
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Ability to work independently and manage field service responsibilities effectively
