Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and control the screed on asphalt paving equipment;
- Ensure proper mat thickness, joint alignment, and overall paving quality;
- Communicate effectively with the paving crew, paver operator, and supervisors;
- Monitor material flow and make adjustments as required;
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report deficiencies;
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment;
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and site requirements;
- Assist with general paving duties as required
- Assist with asphalt work
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2–3 years of previous experience as a Paver Screed Operator required
- Knowledge of asphalt paving operations and equipment;
- Ability to read grade stakes and maintain paving tolerances;
- Ability to work long hours, weekends, and overtime as required during the construction season;
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset);
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5 minimum)
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening
