Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with experience working on mining equipment. This role offers an opportunity to work with the largest heavy equipment in the world in a dynamic environment that values safety, efficiency, and technical expertise. The Equipment Technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the optimal operation of various equipment to support our operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mining equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Conduct inspections to identify wear and tear or potential failures before breakdowns occur
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools to execute repairs
- Assist with assembly and installation of new equipment or components
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts used
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and operational procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding equipment status and repairs

Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification and Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
- Minimum 2 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
- Experience of mining equipment
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
- Dedication to safety. A safety leader to help drive a strong safety culture
- Preference for advanced electrical troubleshooting skills
- Previous project planning skills including ability to deliver on the plan
· Significant post-trade experience with heavy earth moving equipment
· Strong analytical skills with a solution focus
· Ability to work as part of a cohesive team
· Ability to work under minimum supervision and meet deadlines
· Ability to successfully maintain composure in a dynamic environment with frequent job priority changes
Note:
- This position is located in Fort McMurray, AB.
- Shift is a 14 days on 14 days off - Day & Night rotation

- Expected hours: No less than 84 per week
