Job Description
Water Jetting Operations
Responsible for:
- Ensure proper connections of hoses, fittings, and tools.
- Perform pump start-up and shutdown procedures.
- Submit equipment maintenance requests.
- Calculate square footage for water jetting tasks.
- Winterize pumps and store tools appropriately.
- Operate water jetting tools with basic arm-length applications.
Coatings Application
Responsible for:
- Prepare substrates and ensure they meet Inspection Test Plan (ITP) specifications.
- Conduct surface preparation inspections using AMPP (NACE) standards.
- Store coatings as per Safety Data Sheets (SDS) requirements.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot coating pumps. - Spray Coating
- Apply coatings using specified techniques and identify coating failures.
Abrasive Blasting Operations
Responsible for:
- Maintain and store blast media properly.
- Inspect and test blast equipment, including blotter tests and hose inspections.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot compressors and blasting equipment.
- Ensure blasted surfaces meet surface profile requirements (ITP).
FRP Process (Fiber-Reinforced Plastic)
Responsible for:
- Assist in preparing FRP materials, including cutting, grinding, and mixing resins/hardeners.
- Apply primers, adhesives, and support FRP layup and application.
- Ensure proper cleanup and storage of FRP materials and tools.
Safety and Compliance
Responsible for:
- Follow all safety procedures and complete safety documentation.
- Safely drive company vehicles for material transport.
- Operate compressors and shop equipment safely.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas.
Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma required.
- Specialized Knowledge
- Knowledge of blasting, painting, and FRP processes.
- Overhead Crane certification.
- Forklift and Skid Steer certification.
- Ability to recognize and understand Plural Component systems.
- Confined Space certification.
- H2S certification.
- Fall Protection certification.
- First Aid Level C certification.
- AMPP(NACE) Certification considered an asset.
Skills & Abilities

Experience

Working Conditions
- Industrial environment with PPE requirements in the shop and field, including eye protection and CSA-approved footwear.
- Combination of indoor shop work and occasional outdoor tasks.
- Exposure to excessive heat, cold, slippery or uneven walking surfaces, and moving machinery.
- Work both independently and collaboratively with other team members.
- Shop work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Field work: 10- 12-hour days, away from home.
- Overtime as required.
- Travel required for work.
