About The Role
This hands-on role offers the chance to work with advanced batching equipment, maintaining quality standards while supporting a wide range of impactful projects in our community. The ideal candidate is an ethical leader who takes pride in their work, is meticulous about the details, and embraces technical ability and advancement through ongoing training and support.
Responsibilities
· Work and communicate well with others, but also be confident being alone.
· Understand the importance of Safety and will ensure strict compliance.
· Fill out all the daily paperwork and reports as needed.
· Be the first stop of Quality Control. With an understanding of your products, you will achieve the highest levels of accuracy and consistency.
· Understand supply chain management and inventory management
· Perform basic and routine maintenance and keep your environment safe and clean. Troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the concrete plant manager.
· Keep the required records and logs.
· Be willing to do other duties as assigned.
· Be willing to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Candidate Requirements
· Be mechanically inclined with good mathematical skills.
· Realize that your experience with concrete and batch plant operations is a key asset.
· Your intermediate computer experience will also be a key asset working with the latest technologies.
· Knowledge of plant operation, maintenance and electrical systems required.
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under stressful conditions
· Competent in planning, organising and prioritising work tasks.
· Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good working relationships internally and externally.
· Responsible for reading and interpreting computer orders to control mix design and to set appropriate slump and ensuring the efficient working condition of the plant.
· Competent problem solving and analytical skills
· Willing to work overtime including weekends
· Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, stand, sit, shovel, sweep, rake, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms, possibly for extended periods.
· May require occasional moving/lifting of up to 30kg during the workday.
· Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, and as needed, safety-toed boots, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment.
· Ensure that all assigned equipment is properly maintained, clean, in safe working order and operated properly.
· May be required to operate heavy equipment (loader or skid steer).
· Perform general labour duties when necessary.
Use tools such as sledgehammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pneumatic hammer/drill, pipe wrench, hand shovel in the operation or maintenance of plant.

Pay: $32.00-$36.00 per hour
