Kennel Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to pet owners and visitors
- Assist with the daily care and maintenance of the kennel facility
- Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or supervisor
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the appropriate staff member
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Assist with basic training exercises for dogs
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and activities
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required
- Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with pet owners in a professional manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, including lifting bags of pet food or moving larger animals
