Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Immigration Caseworker to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing immigration cases, providing essential support throughout the legal process. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism. The Immigration Caseworker will assist clients, prepare documentation, and ensure compliance with legal standards to facilitate successful case outcomes.
Duties
- Manage and track multiple immigration cases using legal management systems such as iManage and LexisNexis.
- Conduct thorough research on immigration laws, policies, and case-specific information to support case preparation.
- Draft and review legal documents, correspondence, and filings with precision and adherence to legal standards.
- Assist clients through interviews, ensuring accurate collection of information while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Perform data entry and maintain organized filing systems for all case-related documents.
- Proofread all documents for accuracy, clarity, and consistency before submission.
- Coordinate with attorneys and external agencies to gather necessary documentation and updates on case progress.
- Provide administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing deadlines, and preparing reports.
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality protocols when handling sensitive client information.
Requirements
- Proven experience in administrative roles within a legal or immigration setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
- Excellent proofreading, writing, and legal drafting skills.
- Familiarity with LexisNexis, iManage, and project management tools is highly desirable.
- Effective interviewing skills combined with professional phone etiquette.
- Research skills to interpret immigration laws and policies accurately.
- Data entry proficiency along with clerical experience including filing and record keeping.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and professionally.
- Prior experience in legal or immigration casework is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed.
Pay: $18.35-$36.73 per hour
