As our firm continues to grow, we are looking for a motivated Intermediate Architectural Technologist who is eager to grow with us and contribute to high-quality design and permit documentation.
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Intermediate Architectural Technologist with experience preparing permit and construction drawings for residential projects in Ontario. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of working independently while collaborating closely with the firm's Director. This position offers flexibility through a hybrid work arrangement and the opportunity to work on a variety of residential and small commercial projects across the GTA.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare existing condition, permit, and construction drawings using AutoCAD (Revit experience is an asset).
- Produce site plans, floor plans, roof plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
- Interpret and apply the Ontario Building Code and municipal zoning by-laws.
- Coordinate drawings with structural, HVAC, plumbing, survey, and other consultants.
- Assist with building permit applications and municipal submissions.
- Respond to permit comments and revise drawings as required.
- Conduct site measurements and prepare existing condition drawings.
- Participate in client meetings, consultant meetings, and occasional site visits.
- Maintain organized project files and follow company drafting standards.
- Assist with project scheduling and coordination to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Architectural Technology or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience preparing architectural permit drawings in Ontario.
- Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and municipal zoning requirements.
- Experience with custom homes, additions, renovations, legal basements, or garden suites.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Experience with SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, or Twinmotion is an asset.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods and detailing.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and access to a vehicle for occasional site visits.

Compensation
Competitive hourly wage based on experience (approximately $32–$45/hour), flexible hybrid work arrangement, paid vacation in accordance with Ontario employment standards, and opportunities for professional development and increased responsibilities as the firm grows.
