Future Hope Academy is a Christ-centered, non-denomination private Christian Secondary School with an elite basketball preparatory program, offering Ontario curriculum from grade 7 to 12, committed to academic and athletic excellence, spiritual growth, and character development. Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and qualified English Teacher to join our faculty. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop strong communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills while integrating a Christian worldview into classroom instruction.
Starting time: September 8, 2026
Responsibilities
- Teach high school English courses in accordance with Ontario curriculum requirements.
- Develop engaging lesson plans, assessments, and learning activities that promote academic excellence.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview into teaching and classroom discussions.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and Christ-centered learning environment, support the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student learning and school initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education or a related field.
- Experience teaching high school English courses.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Emotionally stable, well-organized, and able to work under pressure
- Commitment to Christian education and agreement with the school's Statement of Faith and ability to integrate faith and learning across the curriculum.
Preferred
- Experience teaching multiple Social Science disciplines (Business, History, Geography, Civics, Sociology, or related subjects).
- Previous experience in a Christian or private school setting.
- Additional qualifications in English, History, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or leading extracurricular activities.
- OCT-certified
