Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and graders. This role involves performing various excavation and construction tasks on-site, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout all operations. Candidates with strong mechanical knowledge and familiarity with Caterpillar equipment are highly preferred. The position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects such as paving, horizontal drilling, and general site development.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators safely and efficiently to perform digging, trenching, lifting, and material handling tasks
- Utilize dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other heavy equipment as required for construction projects
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs
- Assist with site preparation, grading, paving, and horizontal drilling activities
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment to prevent accidents
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications
- Maintain accurate records of daily operations and equipment usage
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and paving equipment
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices
- Ability to operate Caterpillar machinery or similar brands effectively
- Strong understanding of construction processes including paving and horizontal drilling
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks in various weather conditions
- Prior experience in heavy equipment operation within the construction industry is highly desirable
- Minimum 3+ years of excavator operating experience
Pay: $16.00-$22.00 per hour
