Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Kindergarten Teacher to join our team at our Acadia location. In this role, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and child-centered learning environment while supporting children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development through Montessori principles. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on young learners and become part of a collaborative and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a Montessori-inspired curriculum that meets the developmental needs of kindergarten-aged children.
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that promotes independence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
- Observe, document, and assess children's developmental progress, adapting learning experiences to support individual growth.
- Build positive relationships and communicate regularly with families regarding their child's progress and development.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and leadership to create a high-quality learning environment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and engaging classroom.
- Incorporate innovative teaching strategies that align with early childhood education best practices.
- Support children with diverse learning needs by implementing individualized strategies and accommodations when required.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and Willowbrae Academy policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate (Level II or III preferred, or equivalent provincial certification).
- Montessori certified.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification.
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with young children in an early learning or kindergarten setting.
- Previous experience in a Montessori classroom or Montessori training is required.
- Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional team.
- Passion for creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
