Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Carpenter Helper to join our construction team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction projects. The ideal candidate will assist skilled carpenters with a variety of tasks, supporting the successful completion of residential, commercial, and restoration projects. Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, and assembling materials using hand tools and power tools
- Support in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction plans
- Help with concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work as needed
- Participate in cabinet installation, flooring installation, tile laying, and siding projects
- Aid in roofing, siding, and drywall work including caulking and finishing touches
- Support in electrical and plumbing tasks under supervision when required
- Perform heavy lifting and material handling to ensure smooth workflow on-site
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Requirements
- Prior handyman or construction experience is a plus; familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic construction techniques preferred
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, or schematics is advantageous
- Strong work ethic with the willingness to learn new skills in carpentry and construction trades
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Basic knowledge of woodworking, cabinetry, or masonry is beneficial but not mandatory
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for travel between job sites
- Reliable transportation to ensure punctuality for scheduled shifts
