Carpenter’s Helper / Construction Labourer
Job Type: Part-Time / Semi-Full-Time, with opportunity to grow into Full-Time
Pay: $19.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experience
Hours of Operation: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM

Norwind Building Co. Inc. is a growing, veteran-owned carpentry and construction company serving Hamilton, Niagara, and surrounding areas.
We specialize in custom residential construction, renovations, garages and shops, decks, exterior construction, timber work, and other unique carpentry projects.
We're looking to add a Carpenter’s Helper / Construction Labourer to our growing team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, wants to learn the carpentry trade, and is looking for a position where they can develop their skills and take on more responsibility over time.
The Position
This position will initially be part-time to semi-full-time, depending on our project schedule and workload.
For the right person, there is a strong opportunity for the position to develop into consistent full-time employment as the company continues to grow.
You will work directly alongside experienced carpenters on a variety of construction projects.
Typical Duties Include:
- Assisting carpenters with framing and general construction
- Measuring, cutting, carrying, and installing materials
- Garage, shop, and accessory building construction
- Deck and exterior construction
- Interior renovations and finishing work
- Installing windows, doors, siding, trim, and other building materials
- Demolition and site preparation
- Loading and unloading tools and materials
- Setting up and taking down tools and equipment
- Maintaining clean and organized jobsites
- Learning proper construction methods and safe tool operation

Previous construction experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person.

A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to jobsites are strongly preferred.
Experience with basic hand and power tools is an asset.
Pay & Schedule
Starting Wage: $19.00–$23.00/hour
Starting wage will be based on construction experience, skill level, and ability.
Our regular hours of operation are:
Monday–Friday
7:30 AM–5:00 PM
Because this is initially a part-time/semi-full-time position, weekly hours may vary depending on project schedules, workload, and weather.
Applicants should have flexibility to work during our regular operating hours when scheduled.
