Budget Basket is a growing discount grocery store committed to providing quality products at affordable prices. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and physically active team member to join our warehouse and store operations team.
This role combines shipping & receiving, product preparation, warehouse organization, and general store support.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and unload incoming deliveries.
- Organize, rotate, and maintain warehouse inventory.
- Prepare outgoing shipments and store transfers.
- Portion, cut, package, and label products such as meat, cheese, and other grocery items.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Assist with stocking shelves and replenishing merchandise.
- Support the store team with general labour duties and heavy lifting as needed.
- Keep warehouse and backroom areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse, grocery, food production, shipping/receiving, or a similar environment is considered an asset.
- Forklift experience is a strong asset.
- Valid forklift certification is preferred; however, training and certification can be provided to the right candidate.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments when required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Occasionally assist with moving heavier products using proper team lifting techniques and material handling equipment.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
