Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards to promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, independence, and respect among children
- Monitor and assess each child's progress, tailoring activities to meet individual needs and abilities
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a cohesive educational experience
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, and classroom activities using computer systems
- Manage classroom routines efficiently, including transitions, meal times, and rest periods to ensure a smooth daily schedule
- Lead activities that support bilingual learning environments, incorporating both English and French language skills when applicable
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and developmentally appropriate practices
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable to support diverse student populations
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues
- Competent in computer operation and using educational software for record keeping and lesson planning
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage classroom activities efficiently and maintain accurate documentation
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while fostering a collaborative team environment
- Strong time management skills to balance lesson planning, classroom supervision, and administrative tasks
