Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, ensure food safety standards are met, and support the kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals. This role is essential in maintaining smooth kitchen operations and providing excellent service to our guests. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred, but we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn and grow within the food industry.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to recipes and standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen tools
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Support cooking staff during busy periods by providing timely assistance
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations
- Help with stock rotation and inventory management of kitchen supplies
- Adhere to serving protocols and assist in plating dishes when necessary
Skills
- Experience in serving, food preparation, and cooking within a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong knowledge of food handling and safety standards in the food industry
- Ability to perform meal preparation efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and basic cooking techniques
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant settings is a plus but not required; eagerness to learn is valued highly
Pay: $18.00-$18.50 per hour
