Class 1 Driver / Appliance Swamper
Full-Time, Permanent Position

Bowest Appliances has been locally owned and operated in Calgary for over 20 years. As a rapidly growing business, we are looking for a dependable, energetic and hardworking Class 1 Driver / Appliance Swamper to join our team.
This is a physically demanding position that combines commercial driving with the loading, unloading and movement of full-sized home appliances. The successful candidate must be comfortable operating a hand truck and safely maneuvering heavy appliances, including full-sized refrigerators.
Please note: This is not an in-home delivery position.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle throughout Calgary and surrounding areas
- Ensure the truck is loaded safely, securely and in the correct order
- Load and unload all major home appliances
- Use a hand truck to move appliances between trucks, loading docks, warehouses and designated receiving areas
- Prepare loading and unloading areas before moving products
- Perform swamping duties and work closely with other team members
- Inspect loads and equipment to ensure safe transportation
- Comply with all company safety policies and transportation regulations
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with customers, suppliers and team members
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s License
- Commercial driving experience
- Excellent physical condition and the ability to perform demanding physical work throughout the day
- Ability to safely maneuver appliances and other items weighing more than 100 pounds with appropriate equipment and assistance
- Strong work ethic, reliability and a willingness to help wherever needed
- Professional appearance and respectful attitude
- Positive, energetic and team-oriented personality
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of Calgary and surrounding areas
- Commitment to safe work practices
Previous experience moving appliances, furniture or other large and heavy items is considered an asset but is not required.
