W10 is a custom couture house in Yorkville, Toronto. All production is Canadian made and owned end to end. We construct full garments to measure for our clientele. This is couture work, not alterations or piecework.
We are hiring a full time couture seamstress to build garments to our standard. You will work from patterns and specifications to produce finished pieces across dresses, suiting, shirting, and eveningwear.
This role is for someone who has already done this work at a high level. Need to have constructed full garments in a professional couture or high end production environment.
What you will do
- Construct complete garments from pattern and spec through to finished piece
- Bias cut construction and handling of delicate fabrics such as charmeuse silk
- Bound buttonholes and hand finishing to couture standard
- Invisible zipper insertion
- Couture seam finishes, linings, and underlinings
- Toile and muslin construction for fittings
What you need
- Minimum 7 years constructing full garments
- Experience in a high level professional couture or production environment
- Mastery of bound buttonholes and fine hand finishing
- Confident working from a pattern and a technical specification
- Industrial machine proficiency
- You understand what couture quality is and hold it without supervision

- Hours: full time, 40 hours per week, on site
