Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including trucks and vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, unload, and secure freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
- Plan efficient delivery routes to optimize time and fuel consumption
- Verify delivery details, obtain signatures, and complete all required documentation accurately
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic automotive repairs or report issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles and equipment
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent appropriate for the vehicle type
- Proven experience in commercial driving and freight delivery operations
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and safety procedures
- Physical ability to lift heavy freight, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks as needed
- Prior experience with freight handling or warehouse operations is a plus
