About the Role
The Maintenance Millwright is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all production and facility equipment at the Brantford site. This includes troubleshooting, installation, and modification of machinery to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational efficiency while upholding the highest standards of food safety and employee safety in all daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, maintenance, installation, and upgrades on production and facility equipment.
- Execute and support preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
- Maintain accurate and complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures within established timelines.
- Ensure personal and equipment compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
- Complete and process all required maintenance documentation and work orders.
- Train production employees on equipment setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting as required.
- Participate in equipment rebuilds, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Develop, review, and update Lock-Out/Tag-Out and Confined Space procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and workplace safety policies and procedures.
About You
- Certified Industrial Mechanic-Millwright 433A with a minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in computer use and data entry systems (e.g., CMMS).
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- Advanced technical skills in one or more of the following areas:
- HVAC systems
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical systems
- Welding and fabrication
- Pipe fitting
- PLC programming
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities with attention to detail.
Working Environment
- Ability to move freely throughout the facility.
- Frequently lift up to 50–55 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods on concrete flooring.
- Perform repetitive physical movements including bending, squatting, stretching, and reaching.
- Regularly climb stairs and work at heights.
- Work comfortably in varying temperatures and environmental conditions within the facility.
