Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Commis de plancher to join our team. The ideal candidate will support daily store operations, assist with merchandising, maintain cleanliness, and provide excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to develop a broad skill set in retail environment, including sales, inventory management, and maintenance tasks. Bilingual skills are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse customers. The position is essential in ensuring a welcoming and organized shopping experience for all visitors.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with product inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
- Support retail sales efforts by promoting products and upselling when appropriate
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, stockrooms, and display areas
- Help with merchandising activities such as arranging displays and restocking shelves
- Operate equipment such as forklifts safely when necessary for inventory movement
- Perform cashiering duties including processing transactions accurately
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure store safety and functionality
- Support inventory management through stock rotation, counting, and recording stock levels
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and store policies at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts (training provided if necessary)
- Strong communication skills in both bilingual (if applicable) and local language(s)
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently to maintain a tidy environment
- Capable of performing cashiering functions accurately
- Basic maintenance skills for minor repairs and upkeep of store facilities
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively within a team environment
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
