North Zone Mental Health and Addictions has an exciting leadership opportunity for a Manager, Opioid Dependency Program (ODP) and Narcotic Transition Services (NTS). Reporting to the Director this position is responsible for the operational leadership, planning, coordination, and evaluation of Opioid Dependency Program across Grande Prairie, High Prairie, Bonnyville, and Fort McMurray. The Manager provides leadership and oversight for multidisciplinary teams delivering evidence-informed addiction treatment services, with a focus on supporting individuals living with opioid use disorder and other substance use concerns. In partnership with clinical and operational leaders, the successful candidate will support program development, quality improvement initiatives, service integration, workforce planning, and strategic priorities across the continuum of care. The Manager is accountable for fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and client-centred care while ensuring effective resource management, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with organizational goals. This position plays a key role in advancing access to high-quality Mental Health and Addictions services and improving outcomes for clients, families, and communities throughout the North. The position is based in Grande Prairie and provides leadership and operational support to services located in Grande Prairie, High Prairie, Bonnyville, and Fort McMurray.

Working collaboratively with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, operational leaders, and community partners, the Manager supports the delivery of safe, effective, and client-centred services for individuals experiencing opioid use disorder and other substance use concerns. The successful candidate will lead service planning, workforce management, program development, and quality improvement initiatives to support access, consistency, and excellence in service delivery. The Manager will monitor program performance, evaluate service outcomes, and use evidence and data to support decision-making, operational priorities, and continuous improvement activities. The position is responsible for identifying emerging service needs, supporting the implementation of best practices, and ensuring services align with organizational and provincial priorities. The Manager will foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote integrated care, enhance service coordination, and support positive client outcomes across the continuum of Mental Health and Addictions services. The role is accountable for the development and implementation of operational processes, policies, and standards that promote quality, safety, and program effectiveness. The successful candidate is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of services, managing human resources, and providing financial oversight of program budgets. Working with the Business Advisor, the Manager will ensure responsible stewardship of resources, accountability for expenditures, and alignment of financial decisions with operational priorities and organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in a health-related field, with a master's degree in a health-related field is an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Active registration with an applicable professional regulatory college is required where applicable. The successful candidate brings a minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, including experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing operations, and supporting quality improvement initiatives. Experience within Mental Health and Addiction and a strong understanding of substance use services are preferred. The position requires excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to lead change in a complex healthcare environment. The successful candidate demonstrates sound judgment, strategic thinking, financial acumen, and a commitment to person-centred care. Experience working collaboratively with physicians, community partners, and geographically dispersed teams will support success in this role.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Experience in Mental Health and Addiction leadership Demonstrated experience in human resource management, including recruitment, performance management, employee development, and labour relations processes. Experience managing operating budgets and financial resources. Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement principles, change management, and performance measurement. Strong communication, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills. Ability to analyze information, make sound decisions, and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment. Valid Alberta driver's licence and ability to travel within the North as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a health-related field, business, or healthcare administration. Experience in Mental Health and Addictions, including opioid dependency treatment, and recovery-oriented care. Knowledge of provincial addiction initiatives and community-based service delivery models. Experience supporting rural and remote healthcare services and leading teams across multiple locations. Training/experience in project management.
