Overview
Cozy Nest Care Home is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Environmental Services & Laundry Worker to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while ensuring residents' linens and clothing are cleaned, organized, and handled with care. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, follows safety and infection prevention practices, and enjoys working in a team-oriented healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing resident and common areas.
- Clean and disinfect washrooms, equipment, and high-touch surfaces according to infection prevention and control standards.
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute residents' clothing and facility linens.
- Operate laundry equipment safely and report any equipment concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping and laundry areas.
- Dispose of waste according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to management.
- Follow all workplace health, safety, and infection control policies.
- Assist with deep cleaning and other environmental services duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping, environmental services, or laundry experience is preferred, preferably in a long-term care, healthcare, or hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safe operation of laundry equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Pay: $17.00 per hour
