Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to lead our retail sales team and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a proven track record in retail management and sales management. This role involves overseeing daily store operations, developing strategic marketing initiatives, managing staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing store performance through effective team management, merchandising, and operational excellence.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the retail sales team to meet or exceed sales targets through coaching, training, and motivating staff.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, marketing plans, and promotional activities to increase store traffic and revenue.
- Oversee merchandising efforts to ensure attractive product displays that maximize sales opportunities.
- Manage inventory purchasing, pricing strategies, and stock levels to optimize profitability.
- Handle administrative responsibilities including payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and store management tasks.
- Ensure excellent customer service by maintaining high standards of phone etiquette, communication skills, and customer engagement.
- Conduct interviews and participate in recruiting efforts to build a skilled sales team.
- Monitor sales performance metrics using POS systems and other tools; analyze data to inform decision-making.
- Oversee cash handling procedures, cashiering activities, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate training & development programs for staff to enhance their skills in sales techniques, product knowledge, and organizational procedures.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns that align with business goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail sales management or store management with supervising experience preferred.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Proficiency in POS systems, merchandising software, bookkeeping tools, and basic math skills for pricing and budgeting tasks.
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation, recruiting, training & development, and team management.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple responsibilities.
- Experience in marketing strategies, promotional planning, and customer service excellence.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, cash handling procedures, and administrative functions such as bookkeeping.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism; strong phone etiquette is essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in business administration or related fields are advantageous.
