We are seeking a full-time Operations Dispatcher to join our team. This is an on-site position, based at either the Ryley Landfill or the West Edmonton Transfer Station, depending on operational needs.
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Operations Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and optimizing daily waste hauling and collection activities for both Claystone’s internal fleet and third-party subcontractors.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient, reliable service delivery by managing:

Internal hauling operations

Subcontracted transportation services

Rural Beaver County collection routes
-
Transfer station hauling logistics
-
Internal material transfers between Claystone sites

Ad hoc hauling and service requests
The Dispatcher balances operational efficiency, fleet availability, and customer service commitments using data-driven planning and dispatch systems. This is a highly systems-focused role requiring strong technical proficiency and analytical capability.
The ideal candidate will bring:

Post-secondary education in logistics, transportation, operations, business, or a related field
-
3–5 years of experience in transportation, dispatching, or field-based logistics environments

Practical knowledge of solid waste collection and transport systems, including highway trucking operations

Experience coordinating internal fleets and third-party carriers (preferred)

Exposure to waste hauling, transfer station operations, or construction hauling (asset)
-
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to safe operation of highway equipment and landfill operations

Experience working with operational and financial performance data

Proficiency in dispatch software, fleet management systems, and Microsoft Office

Strong scheduling, routing, and operational planning capabilities
-
Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable plans

Demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence

Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey operational updates and solutions

High level of organization, adaptability, and attention to detail

Team-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and integrity

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
