General Description: Reporting to the Director of maintenance, the Electrician will work as a part of the maintenance team to operate, repair, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment and maintain resort facilities in a quick, efficient, and professional manner.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a general Maintenance environment
- Previous preventative maintenance program experiences an asset
- Previous experience in a hotel environment an asset
- Completion of electrician apprenticeship
- Experience working as an electrician
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill
- Red Seal certification
Responsibilities:
1. Perform preventative maintenance, repair, retrofit or other tasks as assigned
2. Monitor and maintain building systems
3. Process work orders as assigned
4. Maintain exterior grounds and safe passageways for all guests and staff
5. Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service and leads by example
6. Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all safety hazards and working in a safe manner.
7. Assist other departments when required
8. Other duties as assigned by manager
9. Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components
10. Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits
11. Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
