Reading Town was founded in New York in 1987 by Dr. Joshua Song, developing state-of-the-art English and mathematics learning programs alongside language specialists. [Key Responsibilities]
Lead small-group classes focusing on advanced Reading, Writing, and Public Speaking (K to Grade 12).
Provide detailed corrections and clear explanations of grammatical errors in written work to help students improve.
Manage classes effectively, ensuring all individual student needs and learning goals are met.
Help students enhance reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.
[Qualifications & Requirements]
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher (Degrees in English, Education, or related fields preferred).
Language: Native-level English fluency with exceptional communication skills.
Curriculum Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the B.C. educational system and school curriculum is required.
Skills: Excellent classroom management, strong organizational skills, and patience when interacting with both students and parents.
Availability: Must be available on some weekday evenings (School operating hours: 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm).
Assets: Previous experience teaching ESL/EFL, essay writing, or public speaking; ECE/ECEA certification.
