We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Manufacturing Cost Accountant to join our team. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and analyzing the product costs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Review Job Order Variances:
- Analyze and address discrepancies in manufacturing variances.
- Work with production teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of variances and corrective measures taken
- Monitor daily job receipts for accuracy from the Quality Department
Job Order Accuracy:
- Verify and monitor the accuracy of all open manufacturing orders.
- Collaborate with production and purchasing departments to ensure order details align with actual requirements and production schedules.
- Resolve any discrepancies between order documentation and production outputs.
Shop Floor Time Recording:
- Ensure that shop floor employees accurately record time against job orders.
- Conduct regular audits to confirm that time tracking is precise and up to date.
Inventory Management:
- Conduct regular sample test of inventory to verify accuracy and to identify any discrepancies or inefficiencies
- Work with inventory Control clerk to resolve the discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records.
- Oversee and manage inventory valuation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Job Receipts
- review open order versus actuals
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on variances, order accuracy, and inventory status.
- Document and track corrective actions taken for variances and discrepancies.
- Assist in generating and analyzing reports to support management decision-making
Cost Analysis:
- Analyze and monitor costs associated with the production, procurement, and distribution of goods or services.
Perform Month end Reconciliations as required and other ad hoc duties.
Work closely with various departments, including production, procurement, and finance, to gather data, provide insights, and support decision-making. Create and maintain process documentation. Work with ERP support to help resolve system issues.
