Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers who can speak and understand Italian, to provide high-quality care to individuals in assisted living, nursing homes, and home care settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia care. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, medication management, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. Support Workers play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those they serve through empathetic and personalized care.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
- Support clients with dementia or cognitive impairments through engaging activities and supervision
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces, including light housekeeping and laundry tasks
- Offer emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Monitor health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Follow care plans accurately and document care provided as required
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or home care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to administer medications safely and effectively
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation tasks efficiently
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to different client needs and care routines
