As we continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our team in an effort to help us grow and maintain a professional, streamlined and efficient B2B sales team in the construction industry, specifically within the custom home build category.
Position Summary
The Project Estimator is responsible for reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate and competitive quotations for window and door projects. Working closely with the sales team, this role ensures that estimates are complete, technically accurate, and delivered on schedule to support successful project bidding.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for windows, doors, hardware, glazing, and related components.
- Prepare detailed and accurate project quotations using company pricing tools and software.
- Verify product selections, dimensions, configurations, and code requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain pricing and product information.
- Identify potential project risks, exclusions, and scope clarifications.
- Prepare bid documents, proposals, and supporting documentation for the sales team.
- Work closely with Sales Representatives to review pricing strategies and project requirements.
- Respond to requests for revisions, value engineering, and alternate pricing.
- Maintain organized project files and estimating records.
- Stay current with company products, industry standards, and building codes.
- Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and pricing accuracy.
Qualifications
- Experience estimating windows, doors, glazing, or related construction products is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with estimating software or ERP systems is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French. Candidates must be fully bilingual.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
- 2–5 years of estimating experience in construction, building products, or architectural systems.
- Knowledge of residential and commercial window and door systems is preferred.
- Understanding of applicable building codes and industry standards.
