Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting store operations, leading sales initiatives, and managing staff to ensure excellent customer service. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily activities, supervising team members, and ensuring operational excellence across all departments.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Support and supervise staff to ensure high levels of customer service and sales performance
- Lead recruiting efforts by interviewing candidates and participating in onboarding processes
- Oversee payroll processing, scheduling, and employee training & development programs
- Manage merchandising strategies, pricing, and inventory purchasing to maximize profitability
- Handle cash management duties such as cashiering, cash handling, and balancing registers
- Utilize POS systems efficiently for sales transactions and inventory tracking
- Develop marketing initiatives to increase store traffic and sales growth
- Monitor store budgets, assist with bookkeeping, and ensure compliance with company policies
- Foster a positive team environment through effective communication, coaching, and leadership
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training to staff members
Skills
- Strong leadership abilities with proven supervising experience in retail management
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in negotiation, sales management, and marketing strategies
- Multilingual or bilingual skills are highly desirable for diverse customer engagement
- Effective organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising, pricing, and inventory control
- Sound knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and bookkeeping practices
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing candidates, and staff training & development
- Competency in budgeting, payroll processing, and administrative tasks such as recordkeeping
- Strong math skills for accurate cash handling and financial calculations
- Customer service orientation with a focus on building positive client relationships
- Demonstrated ability to supervise teams, manage store operations, and meet sales targets

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
