Job Description:
Reporting to the Vice President, Growth Marketing, the Associate Vice President, 1:1 Marketing Practice leads a new 1:1 Practice, an integral component of our delivering more personalized and relevant marketing. This role builds and develops a community of passionate subject matter experts and establishes the standards, ways of working, and enablement required to collectively raise the bar on 1:1 marketing across portfolios and channels.
Key accountabilities include:
- Practice strategy, standards & roadmap define and evolve the 1:1 marketing practice vision, standards, templates, and playbooks; establish a prioritized roadmap that raises quality and consistency across portfolios and channels.
- 1:1 marketing enablement & coaching build and sustain a strong community of subject matter experts; provide coaching, knowledge sharing, and hands-on enablement to uplift capability across 1:1 marketers and delivery partners.
- End-to-end 1:1 delivery excellence (in partnership) partner with portfolio marketers and the Omni-Channel delivery pod to drive disciplined intake, prioritization, planning, and execution; ensure clear requirements, strong QA/governance, and consistent deployment standards.
- Targeting, measurement & optimization guide targeting approaches and measurement standards; partner with analytics and business teams to translate insights into learnings, test-and-learn practices, and continuous optimization to improve 1:1 marketing outcomes.
- Operating model transformation & simplification lead improvements to ways of working, tooling, controls, and governance that increase speed-to-market, reduce defects, and improve scalability in support of our Marketing Agile Transformation.
- Portfolio prioritization & integrated planning partner with portfolio marketing leaders and delivery partners to size, prioritize, and sequence 1:1 work based on value, capacity, dependencies, and customer impact; enable transparent trade-offs and clear commitments.
- Governance, risk & controls establish and maintain practice-wide governance, delivery standards, and quality controls across targeting, build, QA, deployment, and fulfillment to support accurate, compliant 1:1 execution.
- Cross-functional partnership work across marketing partners, channel owners, data/analytics, technology, risk/compliance, and agency/vendor partners to remove blockers, resolve dependencies, and deliver strong outcomes on time.
- People leadership & community building lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team and broader practice community; create an engaging environment where colleagues do their best work and continuously raise the bar on 1:1 marketing.
Skills, Education and Experience:
- 15+ years of experience driving business growth and customer experiences through 1:1/direct marketing within large, complex financial services organizations.
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience across direct marketing strategy and transformation, marketing analytics, and technology strategy and delivery.
- Strong expertise in 1:1 marketing operating models and practices, including audience/targeting, campaign design, execution governance, and omni-channel deployment.
- Proven ability to build, develop, and engage teams—creating a high-performance culture where colleagues do their best work and achieve strong results.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills across Marketing, business, data/analytics, technology, and risk/compliance partners.
- Strong transformation and operating model execution capability, including establishing standards, governance, and scalable ways of working across multiple teams.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), able to simplify complexity, build alignment, and drive clarity across all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical orientation; able to use performance data and insights to drive prioritization, learning, and optimization of 1:1 marketing outcomes.
- Experienced operator with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to deliver with urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Post-secondary degree in business, marketing, analytics, technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
