What We're Looking For:
Key Qualifications & Expectations
- Minimum 5 years of dental reception experience in a busy general practice.
- Thorough knowledge of the BC General Practitioner Fee Guide.
- Strong understanding of dental insurance, including assignment and non-assignment claims, pre-authorizations, predeterminations, coordination of benefits, and patient financial arrangements.
- Confident preparing accurate treatment estimates and explaining insurance coverage to patients.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks throughout the day.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in scheduling, documentation, insurance processing, and financial transactions.
- Strong communication skills with patients, doctors, hygienists, assistants, specialists, and laboratories.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the rest of the team.
- Positive, professional, and patient-focused attitude.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Complete thorough chart audits to ensure every patient is fully prepared before their appointment.
- Verify insurance benefits, pre-authorizations, estimates, balances, and treatment plans prior to treatment.
- Ensure all required records, x-rays, medical histories, and forms are received and documented.
- Maintain accurate and detailed notes after every patient interaction, including phone calls, voicemails, emails, and treatment discussions.
- Follow office protocols consistently for scheduling, no-shows, deposits, recalls, Invisalign cases, and treatment coordination.
- Collect payments and deposits accurately and ensure patient accounts are up to date.
- Identify potential scheduling, insurance, or treatment issues early and communicate them to the clinical team before they impact patient care.
- Ensure the schedule is organized, productive, and running smoothly each day.

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
