Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Infant & Toddler Educator to join our early education team for our infant program beginning in September. The candidate for this role will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing and engaging environment for infants, using the BC Early Learning Framework and Reggio Emilia practices as a guide. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and have a true interest in fostering the development of children. We are looking for an educator who has previous education, training or experience in a Reggio Emilia program, and who will be comfortable and capable of working independently for the time-being as our program continues to grow.
This posting is for FULL-TIME starting in September of 2026.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of infants through developmentally appropriate play experiences.
- Foster a safe, caring and engaging environment that encourages exploration
- Observe and document children's learning through photos on Brightwheel, and through pedagogical narration.
- Communicate with families, children and team members regarding daily activities, individual needs and anything that may arise throughout the day.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom, ensuring health and safety compliance to Fraser Health Licensing standards.
- Provide adaptations into all activities to meet children's developmental/sensory needs to ensure an inclusive and equitable environment.
- Collaborate with team members to develop programming for the group that is developmentally appropriate, and stimulating.
- Manage your group schedule, and time for tasks effectively to ensure smooth transitions and individualized attention for children in your care.
- Requirements
- Current & Valid ECE IT Certificate
- Valid First Aid and CPR/AED Level B
- Prior experience working in or leading an Infant/Toddler group in a group daycare setting is essential.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with infants and toddlers(Under 36 Months) **Bonus if experience is with children under 18 Months.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills is required to communicate effectively with families and team members.
- Familiarity with the BC ELF, and Reggio Emilia philosophy are assets, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Previous experience using Brightwheel or another childcare app is an asset but not required.
Job Details:
- This is a Full-time position 40 hours per week (8 hour shift with 1 hour break)
- After 3 month probationary period we offer benefits including extended health coverage, vision & dental care!
- Wage starting from $21.00 - $22.00 per hour + WE based on experience
