FDS Foundation Drilling Services provides specialized foundation drilling tools and equipment rentals to contractors across Canada and the United States. We are seeking an experienced and reliable Equipment Maintenance Worker to support fabrication, repair, and maintenance of drilling tools and heavy equipment at our Oro‑Medonte facility.
This position is fully on‑site. Remote or hybrid work is not available.
Key Responsibilities
Welding & Fabrication
- Perform welding on equipment components using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques
- Fabricate, modify, and repair drilling tools, attachments, and equipment components
- Read and interpret drawings, measurements, and specifications
- Ensure weld quality meets structural and safety requirements
- Cut, grind, fit, and finish metal parts as required
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Inspection and repair of rental drilling equipment
- Identify wear, damage, and structural issues
- Work with operations and shop staff to meet project and rental timelines
Shop & Safety
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Use tools and equipment safely and properly
- Assist with general shop duties as required
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a welder in an industrial or fabrication environment
- Proficiency in MIG welding (TIG and stick welding considered an asset)
- Ability to read drawings and accurately measure and fit components
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to work full‑time on‑site in Oro‑Medonte
Preferred Experience
- Background in construction, drilling, heavy equipment, or industrial sectors
- Experience welding structural or load‑bearing components
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
- CWB welding certification (asset, not required)
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive hourly wage (based on experience)
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
