Company Overview
Linmark Steel Inc. is a CWB Certified structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and installation company specializing in commercial, industrial, and major infrastructure projects.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Logistics Coordinator to join our shop team. The position will be responsible for coordinating the movement of raw materials, fabricated components, and finished goods in and out of the shop. This role demands strong organizational skills, proficiency with organizing material, and a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all shipping, receiving, and purchasing support tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping
- Oversee and assist with the preparation and package fabricated parts, steel components, and finished assemblies for delivery
- Work with the Shop Foreman to load outgoing trucks and ensure safe transport of goods
- Inspect outgoing loads for quality, accuracy, and proper documentation
- Ensure proper labeling, weight distribution, and secure packaging
Receiving
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments of raw materials, welding supplies, and hardware
- Match deliveries against packing slips and purchase orders
- Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to Shop Forman
Purchasing Support
- Assist with sourcing and ordering raw materials, consumables, and shop supplies as required
- Generate and track purchase orders
- Follow up with vendors on order status, delivery timelines, and backorders
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information
- Support vendor communication regarding discrepancies, returns, or quality issues
- Coordinate with management to ensure timely procurement of materials
- Monitor stock levels and notify Shop Foreman when reordering is required
Inventory & Organization
- Maintain organized and accessible material storage areas
- Tag and store materials according to company standards
- Support cycle counts and full inventory audits
- Keep the shipping/receiving and storage areas clean and safe
Communication & Safety
- Communicate effectively with management, shop employees, and delivery drivers
- Follow all company safety protocols and comply with regulations
- Use proper PPE and follow safe handling practices
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in a shipping/receiving and purchasing role within a manufacturing, logistics, or warehouse environment
- Experience in a steel fabrication shop
- Familiarity with steel grades, fasteners, and fabricated components is advantageous
Skills
- Computer literacy, advanced Excel skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks across shipping, receiving, and purchasing functions
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Working Conditions
- Work performed in fabrication shop and outdoor yard areas
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and heavy materials
- Required use of CSA-approved personal protective equipment (PPE): Safety Boots, Gloves, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
