Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Baker/Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating beautiful and delicious baked goods, with expertise in cake decorating and food preparation. This role involves preparing a variety of baked items, decorating cakes for special occasions, and ensuring all products meet high standards of quality and food safety. The Baker/Cake Decorator will also provide excellent customer service, assist with packaging, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of baked goods including cakes, pastries, cookies, and bread in accordance with recipes and quality standards
- Decorate cakes and desserts with creative designs, themes, and intricate details to meet customer specifications
- Follow food safety protocols and handle ingredients properly to ensure hygiene and compliance with health regulations
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as mixing, measuring, and assembling ingredients
- Package finished products attractively for sale or delivery while maintaining freshness and presentation quality
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
- Ensure all baked goods are properly labeled and stored according to safety guidelines
- Provide friendly customer service by answering questions about products and offering recommendations when needed
Experience
- Previous experience in cake decorating or bakery operations is highly preferred
- Background in restaurant or food service environments demonstrating strong food handling skills
- Knowledge of baking techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment operation
- Familiarity with food industry best practices related to packaging, presentation, and customer service
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Creative flair for cake design combined with solid food preparation skills is a plus
Pay: From $16.35 per hour
