Job Introduction
The Entry Level Service Technician plays a critical role in supporting the daily workflow of Logic NDT Solutions’ operations. This position is responsible for the staging, preparation, cleaning, and maintenance of oilfield downhole tools, float valves, and other customer assets prior to and following non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections.
This is a hands-on position requiring attention to detail, a strong safety mindset, and accurate inventory tracking.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist inspectors in preparing parts for inspection, following Logic NDT Solutions Ltd. SOP’s including but not limited to Washing, buffing, ragging, pre inspection and post inspection.
- Follow all safety requirements of Logic NDT Solutions including but not limited to requirements set forth by customers when working in their facilities.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Maintain and operate appropriately all equipment owned by Logic NDT Solutions Ltd.
- Complete repairs of down hole drilling tools as per Logic SOP’s under direct supervision of inspector.
- Assist inspector in completing documentation with detail and accuracy.
- Responsible for participating in completing daily hazard assessments at locations worked at during the course of a day.
- Use pressure washers, buffers, and cleaning solvents to clear grease, debris, and scale from downhole tools and drill components to ensure they are ready for precise NDT evaluations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free shop floor, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Assist certified NDT Technicians with setting up equipment and moving heavy parts as required.
Qualification Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in an industrial shop environment, ideally within the oilfield services, machining, or NDT sector.
- Valid Forklift Certification and Overhead Crane operation training are highly asset-rich.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, stand for long periods, and perform physical labor in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in accurately recording data and numbers.
- Experience in using power tools and pressure washers.
- Mechanically inclined for minor equipment/tool repairs
