As an Optometric Assistant, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming experience while supporting our doctors with both clinical and administrative responsibilities. What You'll Do
- Welcome and check in patients, creating a warm and professional first impression
- Collect patient history and verify insurance information
- Perform preliminary testing, including visual acuity, retinal imaging, visual fields, colour vision, depth perception, and other diagnostic testing
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
- Perform radiofrequency dry eye and aesthetic treatments (training provided)
- Process retail sales and payments using our point-of-sale system
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
- Work closely with our optometrists and team members to ensure an exceptional patient experience
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working in an optometric or medical office is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable multitasking in a busy clinical environment
- Basic computer proficiency
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to being a supportive team member
- A genuine passion for patient care
