Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled GIS Technician/Mapper to join our team. This role involves creating, updating, and managing geographic information system (GIS) data to support various projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with mapping software, data collection, and spatial analysis, contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of our geographic data assets. Duties
- Develop and maintain detailed maps using GIS software such as ArcGIS and CAD tools like AutoCAD.
- Collect field data through various methods, ensuring accuracy and completeness for project needs.
- Assist in the design and implementation of spatial data management systems, including databases and data repositories.
- Perform data entry, validation, and quality control to ensure integrity of geographic information.
- Support construction projects by providing geospatial analysis, map creation, and technical support.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and construction teams to interpret mapping requirements and deliver precise GIS outputs.
- Update existing maps and datasets to reflect changes from field surveys or project modifications.
- Maintain organized records of GIS data, ensuring easy access and proper documentation for ongoing use.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with ArcGIS and LRM.
- Strong skills in data collection, management, and analysis within GIS environments.
- Knowledge of databases and data management systems to organize spatial information effectively.
- Familiarity with geospatial concepts, cartography principles, and spatial analysis techniques.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prior experience in construction or civil engineering projects is desirable but not mandatory.
